A small or medium widget shows weeks, days to go and this week’s size. The large dashboard adds what is changing this week, to-dos you can tick off right on the widget, your weight trend and a shortcut to note how you feel.

Discreet on the Lock Screen

Anyone near your phone can read the Lock Screen, and many people keep a pregnancy to themselves at first. So the Lock Screen widget shows just a number of days, with no pregnancy wording. You can switch it to weeks and days that stay hidden until you unlock, or to an icon only.

A little about each week

Every week from the start to the due date has a short, plain note: roughly how big the baby is, compared with an everyday object, and what is developing. Suggested to-dos show typical timing for common check-ups, and you can add your own.

Gentle when things don’t go to plan

Pregnancy doesn’t always follow the chart. The app is designed for that:

  • After the due date, no negative numbers and no “overdue”. Just a calm note that a due date is an estimate.
  • Stopping tracking takes one tap and one confirmation. No reason is asked, and every widget quietly goes back to its setup state.
  • Expecting twins or more? Setup asks, and the size reference is clearly labelled as based on one baby.
  • Switch to the due date from your scan at any time; the countdown simply follows the new date.

Your data stays on your phone

Period and pregnancy apps have a poor record with personal data, and this kind of information is rarely protected by health privacy law. Mama Countdown is built so there is nothing to leak.

  • Everything is stored on your device, shared only with the app’s own widgets.
  • No account, no server, no cloud copy. There is nothing we could hand over.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking code, in the app or on this website.
  • Delete everything from Settings in one step.

What it doesn’t do

Mama Countdown is a countdown with a little context. These are left out on purpose:

  • No medical advice, symptom checker or risk scores. Your care team knows your pregnancy best.
  • No community, forums or feeds.
  • No account, no subscription, no ads.
  • No syncing to a server. If sync is ever added, it will use your own private iCloud storage only.
